MCP Server for AI Clients

TikMatrix includes an MCP server. Once it is switched on, an AI app on the same computer — Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, or any other MCP client — can see your devices, accounts and tasks, plan new tasks, and read logs and screenshots, all from a chat.

The AI never changes anything on its own. Creating, stopping or retrying tasks and adding a custom script all wait for your approval in the TikMatrix window.

License Requirement

The MCP server is available on Pro, Team and Business plans, like the Local API. On Starter, the AI client can connect but every tool answers with an upgrade message.

Turn it on

  1. Open TikMatrix → Settings → Developer API.
  2. Switch on AI clients (MCP). It is off by default.
  3. Copy the configuration for your AI client from the same section. It already contains the right server name, address and, for Claude Desktop, the full path to the TikMatrix program on this computer.

TikMatrix must be running while you use it. The server only answers this computer: other machines on your network cannot reach it.

Connect your AI client

Claude Desktop

Claude Desktop starts MCP servers as a program, so TikMatrix provides a small relay mode. Open Settings → Developer → Edit Config in Claude Desktop and add the snippet copied from TikMatrix to claude_desktop_config.json. It looks like this — the path is the one on your computer:

{
"mcpServers": {
"tikmatrix": {
"command": "C:\\Program Files\\TikMatrix\\TikMatrix.exe",
"args": ["--mcp-stdio"]
}
}
}

Restart Claude Desktop. The --mcp-stdio option does not open a second window; it only relays messages to the TikMatrix that is already running.

Claude Code

claude mcp add --transport http tikmatrix http://127.0.0.1:50809/mcp

Cursor and other clients

Clients that accept a server URL connect directly to the Streamable HTTP endpoint:

{
"mcpServers": {
"tikmatrix": {
"url": "http://127.0.0.1:50809/mcp"
}
}
}

The server name differs by edition (tikmatrix, igmatrix or tikmatrix-pro); the snippet in Settings uses the right one.

Approving changes

When the AI submits a change, TikMatrix comes to the front and shows what it would do: for a batch of tasks, the script, its settings and every device, account and target, row by row. Choose Approve to run it or Decline to drop it.

  • If you answer within about 50 seconds, the AI gets the result straight away.
  • If you take longer, the AI is told the request is waiting for you. Approving later still runs it, and the AI can ask for the outcome.
  • Unanswered requests expire after 15 minutes, together with the plan they came from.
  • Tasks created this way show the source mcp in the task list.

Example requests

  • "Which of my phones are offline, and which accounts are logged out?"
  • "Warm up every account in the group US-1 for 20 minutes, starting at 9 tonight."
  • "Why did the last three post tasks fail? Show me the screen of the phone that failed."

Security

  • Local only. The endpoint accepts connections from this computer only, and refuses requests made by web pages.
  • Off by default. Nothing can connect until you switch it on, and switching it off takes effect at once.
  • Every change is approved by you. This does not depend on your AI client's own permission settings.

Troubleshooting

"The app is not running"Start TikMatrix, then try again.
"API access requires Pro or higher plan"Upgrade to Pro, Team or Business.
